This is a webpage for a Special Interest Group on Oil Palm Modelling (SIGOPAM; started July 2025).
If you are interested in joining, please email TOBY on tobmar *a*t* ceh.ac.uk . There are many conferences and online materials about oil palm and palm oil, but very few about actually working out how to represent this important global crop in models. Why is this important? Because we can only predict the future with simulation models, so if we are concerned about what will be the state of existing and future oil palm plantations in a future world (including accounting for existing and future impacts of climate change), then we need to have robust and reliable models that can predict this. |
